DevOps & Platforms provides DOAP Talk, a communications application within the DOAP Workspace ecosystem. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use DOAP Talk.
Information DOAP Talk may process
Depending on the features you use, DOAP Talk may access or process information including:
- Account information: information necessary to authenticate you and connect the application to your DOAP Workspace account.
- Profile information: your name, username, profile image, status, and other profile information associated with your account.
- Communications: chat messages, conversation information, reactions, attachments, and other content you choose to send or receive.
- Contacts: contact information when you choose to use features that require access to contacts.
- Audio and video: microphone and camera data when you participate in voice or video calls or intentionally use related features.
- Files and media: files, photos, videos, recordings, or other content you choose to upload, send, receive, save, or share.
- Location: location information when you explicitly use a feature that requests or shares location. Location access is used to provide the feature requested by the user.
- Device and application information: information required for application operation, compatibility, notifications, security, troubleshooting, and communications with DOAP services.
- Technical information: network requests, timestamps, IP addresses, server logs, error information, and related diagnostic or security information generated through normal use of the service.
How information is used
Information processed by DOAP Talk is used to provide the application’s communications and collaboration features, authenticate users, synchronize conversations, deliver messages and notifications, enable calls, transfer user-requested files and media, provide user-requested location features, maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and operate the service.
Permissions
DOAP Talk may request Android permissions for features such as the camera, microphone, notifications, contacts, files or media, and location. Permission requests are associated with features that require the corresponding device capability. You can control Android permissions through your device settings, although disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working.
Communications and content
Content that you intentionally send to another person or conversation is transmitted as necessary to deliver that content to the intended participants. Other participants may download, save, copy, forward, or otherwise retain information you choose to share with them.
Service providers and infrastructure
DevOps & Platforms may use infrastructure, hosting, networking, notification, security, and other technical service providers as necessary to operate DOAP Talk and DOAP Workspace. Information may be processed by those providers when required to deliver the service. We do not authorize service providers to use personal information for purposes unrelated to providing their services to us.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information handled by DOAP Talk. These include encrypted network connections where supported, authentication controls, access controls, and operational security measures. No Internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.
Data retention
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide DOAP Talk and DOAP Workspace services, maintain account and service functionality, meet security and operational requirements, resolve disputes, and satisfy applicable legal obligations. Retention periods may vary according to the type of information and the service involved.
Account and data deletion
You may request deletion of your DOAP account and associated personal data by contacting DevOps & Platforms using the privacy contact information below. We will process valid deletion requests subject to information that must be retained for legitimate security, legal, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other lawful purposes.
Deleting information from our systems cannot delete copies of communications or files that another user has independently received, downloaded, copied, or retained.
Your choices
You can control many types of information through DOAP Talk, DOAP Workspace, and Android settings. Optional device permissions can be disabled through Android. You can also choose not to use optional features that require access to particular information.
Children
DOAP Talk is not intended to be directed to children under 13. If we learn that personal information from a child has been collected contrary to applicable requirements, we will take appropriate steps to address it.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as DOAP Talk and DOAP Workspace evolve or as legal and operational requirements change. The effective date shown at the top identifies the current version.
